The College of Business and Public Management held a virtual commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 29, celebrating its 560 new graduates. University of La Verne President Devorah Lieberman recognized each graduate for their steadfast determination during the pandemic. Isabella Casillas Guzman, administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration and a member of President Joe Biden’s Cabinet, served as keynote speaker for the ceremony. Student speaker Jessica Murray reflected on the question she says graduates are often asked: “What have you learned?” She used “P.A.N.D.E.M.I.C” to summarize her answer: Patience. Adaptability. Niceness. Determination. Empathy. Motivation. Intuition. Courage.
