WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The United States damaged multilateral cooperation and the World Health Organization in the last few years, and should not be “pointing fingers” at China and other countries that supported the WHO throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chinese Embassy stated on Saturday.
A representative for the embassy, reacting to a declaration from U.S. national security consultant Jake Sullivan, stated China welcomed Washington’s choice to reengage with the WHO, but it needs to hold itself to the “highest requirements” instead of taking objective at other countries.
Sullivan on Saturday gotten in touch with China to provide information from the earliest days of the COVID-19 outbreak, pointing out “deep concerns” about the way the findings of the WHO’s examination into the origins of COVID-19 were communicated.
