The Shuttered Place Operators Grant program includes $15 billion in grants to shuttered locations, to be administered by SBA’s Office of Disaster Support.
Qualified applicants may qualify for SVO Grants equal to 45% of their gross made earnings, with the optimum quantity available for a single grant award of $10 million. $2 billion is reserved for qualified applications with as much as 50 full-time employees.

Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (SVOG)
What is the Grant Amount?
Grant Award is topped at $10 million and is based on 45% of gross made earnings for 2019
At least $2 billion of the overall program is reserved for eligible, small operators with up to 50 full-time staff members
What are the SVOG Eligibility Requirements?
Applicant who applied for PPP First Draw and 2nd Draw after Dec.27, 2020 are disqualified
unless the application was denied *
Should make a certification of requirement noting the unpredictability of existing financial conditions makes needed the SVOG to support ongoing operations.
Should have functioned since Feb. 29, 2020
Need to be open for organization or mean to resume
How is Relevant Museum Defined?
For purposes of the SVOG and in addition to the specific requirements noted in the Economic Aid Act, SBA will usually specify appropriate museum as:
Being a kind of organization listed in 20 U.S.C. § 9172 that uses an expert personnel, and is organized on an irreversible basis to meet instructional or visual purposes through the exhibit of concrete objects to the public.
Tangible objects showed by museums should be taken care of by the museums, may be animate or inanimate, and may be owned or utilized by the museums.
What is a Qualified Museum?
One that operates a public, tribal or personal nonprofit company or institution organized on a permanent basis for:
– Essentially education,
– Cultural heritage, or
– Visual purposes.
Examples of Qualifying Museums Include however are not restricted to:
1. Aquariums
2. Arboretums
3. Botanical Gardens
4. Art Museums
5. Kid’s Museums, and
6. General Museums
7. Historical Homes
8. Historical Museums
9. Nature Centers, and
10 Nature and Sociology Museums
11 Planetariums
12 Science and Technology
13 Specialized Museums
14 Zoological Parks
Venue-Specific Requirements
Must have been acting as a relevant museum as its primary service activity
Need to have indoor exhibit space that belongs of the primary business activity and which has been subject to pandemic-related tenancy limitations, and
Should have at least one auditorium, theatre, efficiency or lecture hall with fixed audience seating and regular programs.
